About

Welcome!

Angela Christy grew up on a ranch in Oklahoma. After high school she received her Associates and Bachelor’s degrees in elementary education. After a couple years of teaching she went back to school for her Master’s in Teaching Learning and Leadership with an emphasis on Library Media. Angela Christy was a classroom teacher for four years and school librarian for eleven.

When AC was eight years old, she was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3. At that time the prognosis was not good. Doctors said she would be in a wheelchair by age 13, a ventilator by 18, and life expectancy was early 20s. What the doctors didn’t know was that God had a plan. Angela Christy raised baby calves, worked on her family’s ranch, and pursued her dreams without any accommodations. She drove and lived independently without modifications to her car or home, until 2012. In 2012, she moved back to the ranch, remaining in her own home, when she began experiencing severe pain. In 2013, she started using a wheelchair full time. With the support of her parents and school family, she continued working until 2016. Due to the stress on her body AC made the difficult decision to take early retirement.

Angela Christy enjoys spending time with her family, living in the country, everything Jesus, and reading. Her faith is very dear to her and she spends as much time as possible study the Bible. The books AC reads is a mix of fiction and nonfiction, different genres, and a variety of topics.

The purpose of this blog is to share Angela Christy s life with the world. She began this blog before her SMA started progressing more rapidly. Readers will find a variety of posts on ranch life, faith, book reviews and advocacy for important causes and issues.
