Grandpa Luke
By A C Hayes
We could always count on you for hugs and kisses
The day you got saved you didn’t walk, you ran to the altar
No one can cook fish the way you did
You always had a story to tell
You were a fighter
You said you wanted to go home
So God hung the last shingle on your mansion
Put out the welcome mat
He opened His arms and said,
“Welcome home son, your journey is complete”
You are in a place where pain, tears, and sickness do not exsist
A place where the fishing is bountiful and the fish stories are glorious
It is not good-bye, only see you later
We love you, Grandpa
We will miss you more and more each day
Our hearts are breaking, but we will see you again someday
